At a book signing I was asked " What's wrong with writing short stories " to which I responded
" Nothing ".  I remember, even at an early age, that I enjoyed writing short stories and poetry and prose;  and had fun experimenting with rhyme and meter and so on-
Right now I choose to put my effort into doing novels. They are a lot of work. They require knowledge and research. I'll fly to a place to get info or to get a feel for the surroundings. There can be a lot involved just in getting background for a novel. Writing them is another thing.
I get asked about sequels but, for now, I am not a serial novelist. Each book stands on it's own. Writing a novel is, indeed, a task. I actually like the largeness of the task.          Jim
